S2E4: Mirror, Mirror
Friday Apr 07, 2023
Friday Apr 07, 2023
In today's episode, Dana and Dan discuss "Mirror, Mirror." The guys talk about how parallel universes come into contact due to an ion storm which, in turn, creates good and evil duplicates of the Enterprise and everyone on board. Dana and Dan also discuss who Spock, Kirk, McCoy, and Scotty would be if they were the Three Stooges and how evil Spock looks great with his goatee. They also wonder why evil Spock didn't transport Kirk into deep space after Kirk goes on and on and on about evil Spock becoming a force for good (by the way, Dana and Dan would definitely have transported Kirk into the cold depths of deep space...).

They also discuss how Scotty keeps getting zapped by aliens, Uhura having her mind completely erased, and how Kirk talks a computer to death (again!). Dan is happy with the number of redshirts that die, and Dana likes how McCoy says one of his iconic lines. And then there is talk about whether whales have nipples...

Friday Feb 24, 2023
In this bonus episode, Dana and Dan speak with Steve Miller from Riverside, Iowa. Steve came up with the idea to declare Riverside the "Future Birthplace" of Captain James T. Kirk. Steve talks about coming up with the concept, battling with Paramount Pictures, and meeting celebrities from the original series (including William Shatner, George Takei, Nichelle Nichols, Walter Koenig, and others). Steve's stories are amusing, heartfelt, and (as Spock would say) fascinating!

S1E28: The City on the Edge of Forever
Friday Feb 03, 2023
Friday Feb 03, 2023
In this episode, Dana and Dan discuss "The City on the Edge of Forever" which is possibly the best episode in the original series. The guys talk about how McCoy changes the course of history, who Edith Keeler is, and how a strange being called The Guardian helps Kirk and Spock attempt to set the timeline back in order. They ponder the meaning of time, wonder why Englebert Humperdinck was so popular when this episode was broadcast, and talk about whale poop. Yep, it's time to get the ramble jar out again...
